Duck eggs taste nearly the same as chicken eggs, but are milder and creamier. The yolks are larger and have a richer taste and nutrient level. Partly due to the larger yolk, duck eggs are significantly higher in both fat and cholesterol than chicken eggs. But they’re also higher in protein and have a higher concentration of omega-3 fatty acids, making them a favourite of paleo and keto dieters who seek high-fat foods.

Duck eggs have a longer shelf life because their shells are thicker than chicken eggs. They can keep for about 6 weeks in the refrigerator.

Duck eggs are excellent for cooking and for everyday eating. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, duck eggs are a wonderful addition to all your favourite meals! There’s nothing a chicken egg can do that a duck egg can’t; you can cook duck eggs the same way you’d cook any other egg. In some cases, a duck egg might not work as a substitution, as it has a higher fat content and larger size.
